Profile

Dorita Cardona is a Senior Associate at Mamo TCV Advocates. She obtained legal practice with Mamo TCV Advocates as a trainee from December 2009 to August 2010 and has been an associate with the Firm since September 2010.

Dorita's principal areas of practice include property law, inheritance and estate planning, insurance law as well as general commercial, civil and corporate law. She has been actively involved in the setting up of Foundations, NGOs and Voluntary Organisations. She is regularly engaged to draft technical agreements including, promise of sale agreements, lease agreements, management agreements and aircraft maintenance agreements. She has also been involved in debt collection cases and has also advised leading insurance companies in connection with life insurance policies and professional indemnity claims. She also assists several companies in relation to company secretarial and corporate governance matters.

Dorita is also actively involved in matters relating to conveyancing, examination of property title and registration of rights.

Professional Career

Significant Accomplishments
Retained to advise on day-to-day property and corporate matters by a locally registered inter-governmental foundation, a number of limited liability companies and private individuals
Regularly advises a number of insurance companies in relation to life insurance policies and professional indemnity insurance claims
Handled a series of share transfers and insurance portfolio transfer transactions for local and international clients, including acting as general counsel for a leading player in the international insurance industry, as acquirer, and was actively involved in the regulatory aspects relating to these transactions
Acts as company secretary to a number of companies registered in Malta and regularly assists in relation to matters of corporate law and corporate governance
Formed part of a legal team entrusted with carrying out a vendor due diligence exercise and drawing up the relative due diligence report in connection with the public offer of its entire share capital
Also forms part of the Firm's legal team in matters relating to conveyancing, examination of property title and registration of rights
