João is a managing associate in the Tax practice has more than 10 years' professional experience.

He focuses on tax consultancy and on advising Portuguese and foreign companies in all sectors. In particular, he assists with the tax structuring of Portuguese and international operations, and he provides tax advice on foreign investments in Portugal. He regularly handles acquisitions, restructurings and corporate reorganisations on behalf of his clients.

João also frequently assists Portuguese and foreign clients in diagnosing and identifying areas of opportunity in tax and parafiscal tax matters, and in tax due diligence processes.

Before joining PLMJ, he was a tax lawyer at Garrigues and worked as a consultant at KPMG.
