Profile

Samantha (Sammi) is a Senior Associate specialising in employment and discrimination law with maintained experience in immigration. Sammi provides strategic, straightforward advice that aligns with our client’s commercial objectives. She is a tenacious litigator and frequently represents employers in multi-day tribunal claims across the UK.

Sammi supports clients across a diverse range of sectors including transportation, food & drink, technology, energy, social enterprise, gaming, and retail.

Her recent cases include:

  • ·      Advising a fashion retailer on the design and execution of a collective consultation that involved a TUPE of services from the UK to the Philippines;
  • ·       Defending claims of sex, age and disability discrimination brought against a prominent employer in the information technology sector;
  • ·       Providing advice and representation to a high street retailer on a multi-million equal pay and sex discrimination claim brought by women working in its UK stores;
  • ·       Defending a public sector employer within the transport sector at a 10- day final hearing against claims of trade union blacklisting.  She successfully pursued an application for expenses thereafter;
  • ·       Providing advice on the merits of appeals made to the employment appeal tribunal relating to medical mitigation arising in conduct dismissals and a high-stakes material factor defence hearing.

Sammi regularly volunteers as a supervising solicitor at the University of Edinburgh’s Free Legal Advice Clinic and provides pro bono advice on behalf of the firm via the Citizens Advice Bureau.
