Profile
Sarah Jacobson has litigated employment, intellectual property, contract disputes, and white collar crime matters in both federal and state courts across the United States. Sarah’s clients appreciate her excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Sarah’s practice spans many aspects of litigation, including motion practice, discovery, trials and appeals. Sarah has also counseled and advised clients on a variety of employment issues, including discrimination, harassment and termination issues, and provided counsel on employment agreements, including confidentiality and non-compete agreements.

Sarah was recently part of a trial team that secured a full victory on behalf of a Brooklyn mixed-use building owner against a purported buyer that alleged the owner had entered into a contract to sell the property for $30 million, allowing the building owner to sell to a third party at a higher price.

Sarah’s other experience includes successfully defending summary judgment in a bid by news station to dismiss an age discrimination lawsuit brought by an award-winning former news director; securing summary judgment dismissing copyright infringement claims against Marvel Entertainment, LLC and its licensees by a comic book writer claiming ownership of the copyright in Marvel's Ghost Rider character; representing Marvel Entertainment, LLC in a declaratory judgment action seeking to invalidate copyright termination notices issued on behalf of the heirs of Jack Kirby, which sought to obtain rights in numerous iconic Marvel characters; and successfully defeating a motion seeking class certification in a lawsuit alleging violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) related to alleged unsolicited mass fax advertisements.

Apart from her work on behalf of clients of the firm, Sarah is an adjunct assistant professor of law at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City. Sarah was selected for inclusion in New York Super Lawyers Rising Stars, Thomson Reuters, 2013-2017.
