Compliance & Forensic practice group set up at Szecskay Attorneys at Law (Budapest, Hungary)

February, 2016 - Budapest, Hungary

Companies sometimes face abuses that may have been committed by one of their employees or staff, which need to be investigated internally. Oftentimes, in cases like this, the involvement of a lawyer becomes necessary and advisable.

With this in mind, as partners of Szecskay Attorneys at Law Zoltán Kovács, Anikó Keller and László Pók have formed the Compliance and Forensic group to facilitate in the collaboration of compliance and forensic internal audit matters.

Three years ago, we set up our own forensic team to deal with alleged abuses. We believe that now we have reached a point in time when there is a need and, thus, a rationale, to extend the services of the team and rename it as the Compliance and Forensic practice group.

The Compliance and Forensic practice group within our firm focuses on providing bespoke legal advisory services when it comes to assessing the possible impacts and consequences of suspicious events which occurred at the client and to conduct a forensic internal audit. Our Compliance and Forensic team is able to address the alleged abuse from a labour law, data protection law, civil law, corporate law, competition law and criminal law perspective. We propose tailor-made step plans for our clients and assist them in conducting their internal investigation by rendering legal services prior to, during and after the actual internal investigation. We also furnish legal advice regarding how to be better prepared for possible future investigations.
