Kaylen is a member of Hanson Bridgett's Litigation & Dispute Resolution group through which he serves many of the Firm's clients in a variety of matters, including business and commercial disputes, insurance recovery, real estate and construction, public entity litigation, product liability and other injury claims, and class actions. Kaylen also assists the Firm's public entity clients in responding to subpoenas and other related inquiries, and provides advice with respect to policies and procedures.
An experienced litigator, Kaylen handles matters in both state and federal court, including those deemed "complex." He strives to provide clients with effective, practical, and creative solutions, while maintaining a keen eye towards value and risk mitigation.
Kaylen's pro bono practice includes assisting victims of domestic violence through the temporary and permanent restraining order process and negotiating child visitation and support agreements in related actions. Kaylen also participates in the Rebuilding Together program.
Prior to joining Hanson Bridgett, Kaylen was an associate at a boutique litigation firm where he represented individuals, professionals, public entities, and businesses in a wide range of disputes.

Lead Associate in defense of Bay Area municipality and police department in excessive force/civil rights claim. Prevailed on Motion for Summary Adjudication, which eliminated over half of the plaintiff's causes of action. Subsequent jury trial resulted in defense verdict on all remaining claims.
Lead Associate in defense of Sellers in real estate transaction/breach of contract dispute. The case proceeded to a court trial, which resulted in a full defense verdict.
Lead Associate in defense of Property Owners in dispute involving trespass, nuisance, and prescriptive easement. Case proceeded to jury trial, which resulted in favorable judgment for clients.
Negotiated favorable settlement on behalf of Bay Area municipality in employee benefits matter following successful motion practice at the pleadings stage.
