Liam Kennedy specialises in domestic and international commercial disputes ranging from M&A, product liability, securities/auditors' litigation (including SEC investigations and US class actions), IT/IP claims, regulatory litigation, EU & competition law and constitutional litigation.

Recent cases include challenging Irish legislation banning tobacco advertising and display, and the successful defence of Irish tobacco product liability litigation. Hundreds of claims have failed, none have succeeded. The few remaining claims are being vigorously contested.

Liam acted in one of the first Unregistered Design Rights claims in Europe using the new Irish Commercial Court to issue proceedings, exchange pleadings and discovery, and secure a trial and a favourable outcome all within four months.

Liam is an accredited mediator and a member of Dublin Advisory Council of the International Centre for Dispute Resolution - the European arm of the American Arbitration Association. Liam is an active member of the International Bar Association and a member of the Digital Policy Council of the Chambers of Commerce of Ireland. Described as “highly recommended" by PLC Which Lawyer 2005, “a leading individual" in Chambers Global 2005, he has frequently contributed to Irish worldwide publications and spoken at conferences on legal and technology issues.
