Profile

Elena’s practice deals mainly with banks and private lenders in both secured and unsecured financing transactions. She acts on many loan transactions involving real and personal property security, financings for debt and equity offerings, cross-border financings and restructurings. She has been involved in acquisition financing, including leveraged buyout transactions which frequently involve multiple tiers of secured and unsecured debt, commercial lease financing, asset-based loan facilities and subordinated or mezzanine debt financing.

Elena graduated from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law, and obtained a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Victoria. She summered at the BC Financial Institutions Commission as a Compliance Officer and was a Business Banking Account Manager for the Royal Bank of Canada.

Prior to joining Lawson Lundell she articled and practiced at a national firm in their Corporate Commercial Group.
