ALBERTO TEROL is currently the Regional Managing Partner for LACRO (Latin America and The Caribbean) of Deloitte & Touche, having joined the firm in October 2002. From October 2002 to September 2003, Alberto was the Deputy Global Managing Director – Tax & Legal Services for Deloitte & Touche. He has also overseen the merger processes of the Andersen firms into Deloitte around the world. He has more than 25 years' experience in tax and legal services including tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions, planning, and compliance services.

Before joining Deloitte in October 2002, Terol played an important role in numerous global activities throughout Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa for Arthur Andersen. He joined the Arthur Andersen Tax Practice in 1977. He was appointed partner of AA ALT in 1988. He was a member of the worldwide Arthur Andersen Tax & Legal Long Range Planning Committee from 1989-1993 and was chairman of this committee from 1992-1993. He was the Area Tax and Legal Managing Partner of EMEIA (Europe, Middle East, Africa and India) from September 1993 to 1997. In January 1994 he was appointed Managing Partner of the Firm’s Worldwide Legal Practice. From 1997 to 2002 he was the co-Managing Partner of Garrigues & Andersen. From 1996 to 2000 he was a member of the Board of Partners of Andersen Worldwide, and a member of the EMEIA Executive Committee of Arthur Andersen. From 1997 to 2001 he was Worldwide Managing Partner of the Tax and Legal Practice. He was appointed Managing Partner of Andersen Europe from March 2001 until May 2002. He was a member of the Nominating Committee of the Firm (selecting candidates for the Firm's worldwide Board of Partners).

Some of the major clients that he has worked for include AT&T/Lucent, General Motors, General Electric, Dinners Club, etc.

He has published a number of technical and non-technical articles in prestigious newspapers and journals, and has given lectures in many institutions such as the Harvard Law School and the American Corporate Counsel Association.

Alberto was granted the most prestigious award in the technical Tax area (Extraordinary Award of the "Instituto de Estudios Fiscales") for a book written with two renowned professors of Tax Law dealing with the introduction of VAT in Spain.

Alberto was graduated in Economics and Business Administration. He did a Master's degree in Tax Law at the Universidad de Comillas de Madrid (ICADE). He also did a Business Management Course at the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de la Empresa (I.E.S.E.) at the Universidad de Navarra. He studied four years of a Law degree at Universidad Complutense de Madrid and two years of a Political Science degree at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
