Profile

Anneth Jiménez, Partner at BLP in San José, Costa Rica specializes in the practice areas of Real Estate & Hospitality and Business Law. She has extensive experience in the development, structuring, financing, and sale of real estate projects throughout the country and advised hotel chains, corporate centers, and urban and coastal real estate developers, and companies in free trade zone regimes. Her expertise includes construction and operation contracts (build-to-suit, turnkey), due diligence in property purchases, and water supply legal structures. In the area of business law, she advises national and transnational companies in contractual matters, as well as in the operation of recognized franchises in the Central American region. She joined BLP as an Associate in 2006 and was promoted to Partner in 2017.

Professional Career

Significant Accomplishments
Laboratorios Saval’s entry into the pharmaceutical market in Costa Rica. BLP advised Saval throughout the acquisition process of Laboratorios Stein’s operations in Costa Rica, including the performance of due diligence, the structuring of the transaction, the negotiation of the purchase agreement and ancillary contracts, and the entry of Saval into the Costa Rican market through the obtention of the applicable permits and the hiring of 170 employees.
Las Catalinas is a high-end master-planned new-urbanism beachfront development in Guanacaste. BLP monitors all legal aspects of the development of Las Catalinas, a 1000-acre beach community with a car-free walkable town composed of houses, shops, restaurants, small hotels and inns, pedestrian streets, plazas, parks, and recreational facilities. There are currently two boutique hotels in the project and several development sites.
Developers 506 seeks to develop an ambitious gated community on the beach. Advising Developers 506, a major local green developer on an ambitious Beach Gated Community (MISTICO) concept on 110 hectares of titled beachfront property in Central Pacific Hermosa Beach.
Acquisition of WeWork by Grupo Garnier. BLP advised the client throughout the process, from due diligence, drafting the SPA, reviewing and negotiating lease agreements, to closing the transaction. BLP counsels the client on day-to-day operations, including tax and labor law matters.
