Profile

Stuart is based in our Rural Property & Business team, advising on all aspects of agricultural and rural property transactions including the sale and purchase of farms; forestry matters; and renewable energy projects.

He is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in agricultural law and regularly advises both landowners and tenants on agricultural tenancy matters. Stuart also has a particular focus on the sale and purchase of landed estates, as well as ongoing estate management, which requires Stuart to advise clients on a wide range of property matters and commercial contracts. Stuart also has an interest in crofting matters.

Stuart's practice also comprises advising on refinances and development matters in rural and urban settings, including commercial properties such as care homes as well as residential developments.

He also has extensive experience in charity and community matters, having acted in a number of high profile community acquisitions and projects.
