Profile

Extensive technical experience in support of biomedical and plant patents

Christine Tiskevich helps prepare and prosecute patent applications with a focus on biotechnology and protecting plant varieties. She constantly strives for improved efficiencies to save time and streamline workflows.

Christine formerly managed a biotechnology lab for a major seed company, where she implemented new genomic and biotechnology tools for the breeders and trait conversion teams in order to enhance their understanding of the germplasm at a molecular genomic level. She also led a commercial corn breeding program, where she gained in-depth knowledge of the U.S. maize dent germplasm base.

Her Ph.D. work focused on understanding the molecular and genetic mechanisms underlying maize kernel composition traits (protein, oil and starch).

Some of Christine’s technical skills include DNA and RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, DNA, RNA and protein gels, methylation assays, gene cloning, biotech trait detection, next generation sequencing (NGS), QTL mapping, genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and genomic selection (GS).
