Colin's deep, personal interest in disruptive technologies is evident in his work as a New York-based associate in Lowenstein's Corporate Department and a member of The Tech Group.

Since joining the firm in 2011, Colin has focused on the representation of venture capital funds and emerging technology companies in financing and M&A transactions. Colin works closely with early-stage, high-growth companies on formation and initial capitalization matters, and he has significant experience representing both investment entities and technology companies in complex financing transactions of all sizes.

Prior to joining the firm, Colin received top honors while obtaining a graduate degree in entrepreneurship from Duke University. While there, Colin served as a strategic advisor to numerous startups and later worked as an associate for 8 Rivers Capital, a technology commercialization firm based in Durham, North Carolina.

In addition to his work with The Tech Group, Colin works with underwriters and issuers in public securities transactions and counsels hedge funds and other investment managers on formation, compliance, and operational matters.

Significant Accomplishments

Represented Upfront Digital Media (f/k/a Legolas) in its sale to Undertone (June 2014).

Represented Swyft Media in its sale to Monotype Imaging, a publicly traded design company, for over $27 million in cash and earn-out incentives (January 2015).

Represented Bessemer Venture Partners in the Series D financing of Welltok, in which the consumer health venture raised $37 million (September 2014).

Represented Fenway Partners in its acquisition of a controlling interest in HTM (December 2013).

Represented Yext in its "pre-IPO" Series F financing. Led by Insight Venture Partners, Yext raised $50 million at a $525 million valuation (June 2014).

Represented Bessemer Venture Partners in Quantopian's Series B financing, in which the investment algorithm producer raised $15 million (October 2014).

Represented Fir Tree Partners in the $35 million PIPE transaction in which it acquired a controlling stake in CIG Wireless, a publicly traded telecommunications company (August 2013).

Represented Kickboard in a $2 million Series A financing led by New Markets Venture Partners and Two Sigma Ventures (February 2013).

Represented Eloquii in its $6 million Series A financing led by Greycroft Partners (November 2014).

Represented Adaptly in Series B financing of over $10.5 million from Time Warner Ventures, First Round Capital, and Valhalla Partners (May 2012).

Represented Selectminds in its sale to Oracle (September 2012).

Represented Magnetic in the purchase of Cognitive Match, a UK-based digital advertiser (May 2014).

Represented Magnetic in its Series B financing; led by Edison Ventures, it raised $10 million (June 2012).
