Profile

Cristina Mesa is a partner of the Intellectual Property Department, joint head of Garrigues Fashion Law Group and is passionate about new technologies and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
She provides recurring advice to clients on internet-related matters and new forms of communication and cultural and business participation, including e-commerce platforms, marketplaces, intermediary service providers, social networks and technology startups.
In the fashion industry she also advises multinationals in the clothing, large retail and beauty sectors. Her regular clients include specialized e-commerce/m-commerce platforms and businesses dealing in production, logistics, advertising and retail.
Cristina provides advice on contracts and acts as counsel in complex legal proceedings. She also provides assistance to clients on strategic aspects of business in relation to the exploitation of their intangible assets and the viability of new business models.
She directs the MBA in Fashion Business & Law and the Executive Program in Fashion Law at Centro de Estudios Garrigues and is a regular speaker at various universities, collaborating with associations such as aDigital, ICEX and 4YFN among others.
She is member of the Madrid Bar Association, the New York Bar and is an arbitrator at aDigital.

Education

Cristina has a LL.M. magna cum laude in International Business Law and International Commerce from Washington College of Law.
She has a Degree in Law and Political Science and Public Administration from Universidad Carlos III in Madrid and also has an Associate’s Degree in Design and Illustration from Escuela de Arte de Toledo.
