David Maister is widely considered one of the world's leading authorities on the management of professional service firms. For two decades, he has consulted to prominent professional service firms around the world on a wide range of managerial and strategic issues.

Professional Career

A native of Great Britain, Maister holds degrees from the University of Birmingham, the London School of Economics and a doctorate in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School. He began his teaching career at the University of British Columbia, Canada, and then joined the Harvard Business School faculty, where he taught courses in managing service businesses from 1979-85. Since 1985 he has been a solo consultant, advising professionals service firms around the world.
