Derek Trotter is a senior advisor* in Bradley’s Governmental Affairs and Economic Development practice groups. He represents clients before the executive and legislative branches of government in Alabama.

Before joining Bradley, Derek was chief of staff to Alabama Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Reed. In this capacity, he advised Reed and members of the Senate on numerous policy and procedural matters. Derek also assisted Reed in the day-to-day operations of the Senate. 

Derek has more than 16 years of experience in Alabama government and politics, including more than a decade combined as a senior staff member for the governor of Alabama and president pro tempore of the Senate. He has been instrumental in the passage and enactment of numerous major public policy initiatives.

Derek is a graduate of Auburn University.
