Profile
Gerald J. Komisar joined AIG in December 1999 after serving 31 years with the Central Intelligence Agency and four years with the United States Navy.
Mr. Komisar has extensive experience working on national security issues from the intelligence perspective, having served abroad in Taiwan as a Chinese linguist; as an operations officer in Indonesia, Austria, and Sweden; as the senior intelligence representative in China, and subsequently in New York City. He also occupied senior intelligence positions in Washington D.C., including an assignment as Chief of Latin American operations and on the Inspector General staff.
His last position at the CIA was Director of the DCI's Crime and Narcotics Center, where he was responsible for overseeing worldwide intelligence operations against international organized crime.
Currently, Mr. Komisar is a Senior Vice President in AIG’s Business Information Group. He provides global risk assessments to various AIG business centers and to selected clients with international operations. Born and raised in New York, he is a graduate of Columbia University.
