Hartmut started his career in 1981 with Lorentz & Bone, a firm founded in 1919 and the predecessor of LorentzAngula Inc. of which he is founding member and currently serving as chairman of its board of directors.
In 1989 Hartmut was elected member of the Constituent Assembly, which adopted Namibia’s Constitution. From 1990 to 2000, he was a member of Parliament and, as Attorney General, also of Cabinet until 1995.
As a commercial and corporate lawyer who also specializes in public law, he has frequently acted as lead attorney in major transactions. He advises and represents parties in both the private- and public sectors, including banks and financial service providers, telecommunication operators, retirement and insurance industries, medical aid funds, mines and agriculture. Clients include large corporate businesses and national utilities over a broad spectrum of Namibia’s economy , including also major state-owned enterprises.
