  • Represented company in connection with contract dispute arising from the sale of a school.

  • Represented global healthcare company in connection with a declaratory judgment action concerning the scope of a consent judgment entered to resolve a landmark false-advertising case.

  • Defended individual in connection with lawsuit brought by multiple plaintiffs asserting claims for defamation based on statements allegedly made by defendant’s representatives.

  • Representing European bank in connection with investigation into interest rate derivatives trading.

  • Represented European bank in connection with an industry-wide investigation into alleged manipulation of a benchmark rate for interest rate derivatives.

  • Advised former employee of charitable foundation in connection with criminal charges brought by foreign government.

  • Represented pharmaceutical company in connection with Department of Justice investigation of customer assistance program.

Pro Bono

  • Representing victims of torture in the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq in litigation brought under the Alien Tort Statute against government contractor.

  • Represented class of individuals in litigation asserting claims for deceptive business practices, unjust enrichment, and harassment against operator of three-quarter houses. Successfully obtained damages award of more than $4 million on behalf of class as well as injunctive relief.

  • Represented defendant in direct appeal of conviction and life sentence on federal criminal charges under the Hobbs Act and Travel Act.
  • Successfully appealed client’s misdemeanor conviction, obtaining reversal based on lack of jurisdiction.

  • Represented interests of amici curiae in the U.S. Supreme Court case Jennings v. Rodriguez, addressing the Government’s authority to detain certain categories of non-citizens without providing periodic bond hearings.

  • Represented interests of amici curiae in the U.S. Supreme Court case Carpenter v. United States, addressing whether the warrantless seizure and search of historical cell site records violates the Fourth Amendment.
