Profile

Kathy has enjoyed a broad range of experiences in the Portland legal community since 1994. With skills developed in banking and accounting, she joined a small general practice. Following completion of her paralegal certificate, she began work as a legal secretary in a midsize firm, where, with encouragement from a senior partner, she became a litigation paralegal focusing in defense of personal injury, toxic tort, and professional liability claims. She was with Friedman Gaythwaite Wolf in 2013 and became a part of the Verrill team when the firms combined.

Kathy supports the Litigation & Trial Group in the areas of Professional Liability & Licensure, Health Care Litigation, Product Liability, and Toxic Torts & Personal Injury Defense from initial assessment through appeal. She assists counsel in all phases of the discovery process, analyzes and summarizes medical records, and interviews witnesses. She enjoys researching expert witness databases, medical issues, and federal, state, and local law. She works with the Litigation & Trial team to prepare for depositions, mediations, panel hearings, and trials. Kathy directs her strong organizational and analytical skills to support the litigators in successfully representing Verrill's clients.
