Melanie Harrison is a Consultant in ENSafrica’s tax practice. She specialises in corporate tax, in particular, in the mining, energy and infrastructure industries. Melanie’s expertise includes advising on M&A transaction tax, including tax structuring and due diligence, as well as private equity transactions.
Melanie is an expert in advising corporates and B-BBEE shareholders on the tax-efficient structuring, re-structuring, financing and refinancing of broad-based black economic empowerment (B-BBEE) investment and ownership transactions, including loans, equity, preference share funding and notional vendor financing arrangements. She has extensive experience in advising clients on mineral royalty tax, as well as in the tax aspects relating to funding project finance and infrastructure transactions.
She also assists clients on their interactions with the South African Revenue Service, including refunds, voluntary disclosure programme and advance tax rulings applications, as well as royalty and income tax audits and dispute resolution matters.
