Profile

Melissa Ginsberg is Counsel in the Firm’s Litigation department, where her practice focuses on complex commercial disputes.  Ms. Ginsberg represents clients from pre-litigation counseling through trial and appeal across a wide range of industries and legal claims.  Her experience includes complex litigation involving financial products, antitrust, false advertising, business torts and contract disputes.  She is also experienced in white collar criminal defense, and advises clients in connection with internal investigations and investigations by government agencies. Ms. Ginsberg is a Co-Chair of the ABA’s International Criminal Committee, and was selected as a Rising Star in the New York-Metro edition of Super Lawyers each year from 2015-2018. Prior to joining the Firm, she served as Law Clerk to the Hon. Anita B. Brody, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Representative Matters

Represent not-for-profit foundation in connection with civil asset forfeiture proceedings and several lawsuits brought under the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act and the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act.

Represent pharmaceutical company in connection with license-related disputes.

Represent pet food manufacturer in connection with allegations of false advertising, breach of contract, and fraud.

Represented individuals in connection with industry-wide investigation into alleged manipulation of LIBOR and other benchmark rates.

Represented financial guaranty insurers in complex contract and fraud actions concerning mortgage-backed securities transactions.

Represented financial guaranty insurer against unfair-pricing claims relating to the guaranty of municipal bonds.

Represented individual in connection with investigations conducted by Congress and the Department of Justice concerning an automotive recall.
