Paul Bolus has been representing insurance company clients for more than 25 years, litigating and managing over 200 cases in federal and state venues across the country. Paul has taken on multimillion-dollar cases, including class action lawsuits, regularly representing insurance companies in litigation dealing with health and life issues in just about every context, including major medical, specified disease, cancer, heart, stroke, disability, life insurance, long-term care insurance, securities, annuities, STOLI, department of insurance complaints and litigation, unfair consumer trade practices, deceptive trade practices and agent accounting litigation.

Paul is known for the consistent, detailed, and focused attention he affords his clients, always providing prompt and efficient service. Because of Paul’s articulate pragmatism and impressive legal acumen, he regularly represents clients in complex cases and difficult situations. He has defended insurance companies in multimillion-dollar agent damage cases, class action and mass actions, handled multi-jurisdictional litigation of opt-outs from a nationwide class settlement and resolved coverage disputes.

Addressing a wide array of matters from fraud to complex insurance class action cases, Paul applies his deep understanding, practical experience, and skillful litigation strategies to effectively and efficiently protect his clients’ interests. Recently, he litigated and successfully settled during trial two agent dispute cases against client Massachusetts General Life Insurance Company in federal courts in Indiana and South Carolina; defeated class certification of a nationwide class in a sales practices matter against Philadelphia Life Insurance Company pending in federal court in Orlando, Florida; and successfully represented a major malpractice carrier before the Alabama Department of Insurance.

Paul is also actively involved in insurance industry organizations. He belongs to the Association of Life Insurance Counsel (ALIC). Paul also belongs to the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section and the DRI Life, Health and Disability Committee and the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI).
