Profile

Sarah Corser is a Senior Associate working in the clinical negligence department. Sarah joined Shoosmiths in August 2013 

Sarah has worked on a wide range of diverse cases across clinical negligence, including cases arising from delays in diagnosis, fatalities and negligent surgery, but now specializes in cases involving catastrophic neurological damage. She has a particular interest in brain injuries in children arising from mismanaged delivery, negligence during the immediate neonatal period or encephalitis, and also in spinal injuries arising from negligent care

She successfully obtained a multi million pound award as a result of substandard spinal surgery for a young mother of 4 children and is currently working on several cases involving brain injuries at birth where she has secured admissions of liability.  One of these has involved securing and adapting a rental property for a child with cerebral palsy in central London to an award winning standard.
Prior to joining Shoosmiths Sarah was an Associate with Challinors. Sarah graduated with an upper second BA Honours degree in English Literature from the University of Cardiff prior to converting to law at the University of Birmingham and then training as a solicitor.

She is also a member of  the Law Society Clinical Negligence Specialist Panel and is Chair of the Birmingham Law Society Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence specialist committee.

She has worked closely with a number of charities including Encephalitis Society, UK Sepsis Trust and Back Up, and regularly supports Meningitis Now and the Children's Trust.Outside of work, Sarah also enjoys reading, walking, the theatre and good food and wine.
