Victoria is a Senior Associate in the London office of the Shoosmiths Corporate Restructuring and Advisory team. Victoria specialises in contentious insolvency matters and has litigated in the County and High Courts as well as the Court of Appeal.

Victoria’s contentious insolvency experience includes:

• Advising insolvency practitioners and directors in respect of various claims arising out of corporate insolvencies including:
• Misfeasance;
• Wrongful and fraudulent trading;
• Void dispositions;
• Preferences;
• Transactions at an undervalue; and
• Claims in respect of tax avoidance schemes including Loan Charges, E Shares, EBT and EFRBS.
• Advising insolvency practitioners in respect of investigations and recovery of books and records.
• Defending directors facing disqualification investigations and proceedings.
• Petitioning for the compulsory liquidation of companies and bankruptcy of individuals.
• Obtaining interim injunctive relief including freezing orders.

Prior to joining Shoosmiths, Victoria also advised and acted in respect of a wide range of commercial and corporate litigation matters which supports her insolvency practice by giving her a breadth of experience. Her wider litigation experience includes shareholder disputes, contract and invoicing disputes and other equitable claims. Victoria has also assisted private individuals and companies in relation to HMRC investigations.   

Victoria is an active member of the International Women in Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC).
