<p>ALRUD Law Firm has been shortlisted for the <span data-color='#ff351b'>CEE Deals of the Year Awards 2020</span> in Russia for advising <span data-color='#ff351b'>Mechel</span> in the sale of its 51% participatory interest in the companies which operate the Elga coalfield project. Elga coalfield owns one of the world’s largest deposits of high-quality coking coal. Its estimated reserves are approx. 2.2 billion tons. The total value of the deal is <span data-color='#ff351b'>89 billion RUB.</span></p> <p>ALRUD’s team was headed by partners <a href="https://www.alrud.com/people/AndreyZharskiy" title="Andrey Zharskiy">Andrey Zharskiy</a> (Head of Natural Resources, Energy and Infrastructure) and <a href="https://www.alrud.com/people/Alexander%20Zharskiy" title="Alexander Zharskiy">Alexander Zharskiy</a> (Head of Corporate / M&A) and was supported by counsel <span data-color='#ff351b'>Oleg Ezhov,</span> senior associate <span data-color='#ff351b'>Kristina Akalovich,</span> associates <span data-color='#ff351b'>Anna Derbak</span> and <span data-color='#ff351b'>Irina Cherdintseva.</span></p> <p>In addition, ALRUD lawyers provided support to Royal DSM on the acquisition of Erber Group and AB Linas Agro Group on the acquisition of AB Kauno Grudai Group, nominated in Austria and Lithuania, respectively.</p> <p><span data-color='#ff351b'>The CEE Deals of the Year award</span> was established in 2017 to honor law firms in Central and Eastern Europe for supporting significant transactions.
