Shoosmiths celebrates five years in Sheffield

March, 2022 - Milton Keynes, England

Leading UK law firm Shoosmiths is celebrating five years in Sheffield, following significant growth and impressive client wins in the region.

Based at City Estates’ Speedwell Works development in Sheffield’s thriving cultural industries quarter, the Shoosmiths team has increased its profile in South Yorkshire and built an impressive client roster. Led by real estate partner Tom Hall alongside partner Kellie Hatton, notable clients include Henry Boot PLC, Buccleuch Property, Taylor Wimpey PLC and Harworth Group PLC. The Real Estate led team act on strategic land, development, occupier, local authority and investment real estate matters.

Shoosmiths has also grown its relationship with the community too, after choosing Roundabout as the firm’s charity partner for the last two years. In addition to this, the firm launched The Shoosmiths Foundation last year, a UK-wide grant making body focused on making a difference in the communities the firm operates in. The Foundation’s first grant included Sheffield-based charity Street League, which supports young people in the city’s most deprived communities to gain the qualifications they need to secure meaningful job opportunities, aligning with the firm’s social mobility action plan.

Tom Hall, head of Shoosmiths in Sheffield, said: “It is a testament to the hard work of our team that we have seen such significant growth within our first five years in Sheffield. With the support of such a talented group of people, not only have we amassed an impressive client portfolio across the region, but we have also made lasting relationships in the South Yorkshire community that have gone on to make a difference. We’re excited to see what is in store for the firm in the region in the years to come.”

Kellie Hatton added: “The last couple of years have been undeniably challenging for everyone, but Shoosmiths is a very innovative firm, and its agile way of working and collaborative culture meant the pandemic did not impact upon our successful working practices. It’s been great to see our clients thrive in recent years, particularly watching the Stokes Tiles site in Sheffield transform into one of the coolest apartment blocks in the city.  Our calculations show that the team has helped to get nearly 50,000 houses into the development pipeline since we opened our office in 2017, a massive reflection of the team’s dedication and expertise.”
