ANNIE CAMPBELL, FIRST WOMAN AND THE YOUNGEST PERSON TO LEAD PROMINENT GLOBAL PROFESSIONAL NETWORK

September, 2023 - Bahamas

Nassau, The Bahamas – With effect from September 2023, over a term of one year, GrahamThompson Partner and GTC Corporate Services Limited (GTCCS), Chief Operating Officer (COO), Anastasia Campbell becomes Chairman of the Board of Directors of the World Services Group (WSG). WSG is a prominent global network, connecting some the “most elite legal firms and their multinational clients worldwide”.

Following her election as Chair-Elect at the WSG’s annual meeting in San Francisco, California a year ago, the 2023 meeting in Amsterdam, Netherlands, this past September 6 – 8, saw the historic change of the baton. She succeeds Herman H. Raspé, of Patterson, Belknap, Webb and Tyler LLP, in New York, USA. Her leadership represents a few important firsts. She shall be distinguished in WSG’s prestigious narrative as the first woman and the youngest person to hold the top role. It is also a proud first for GrahamThompson and for The Bahamas.

About WSG

The World Services Group comprises a membership of over 120 firms worldwide, spanning nine regions: Africa, Asia-Pacific, the Caribbean, Central America, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, North America and South America. Representing over 23,000 professionals with multinational clients in more than 150 jurisdictions globally.

Firm membership in WSG is by invitation only and is subject to strict standards, including the requirement of being a leading national, regional and/or international firm. The WSG network has also included a select group of investment and accounting firms, which strategically enhances the “reach and access” of member law firms. WSG was established in 2002. GrahamThompson, the sole Bahamian firm, has been a member since 2005.

Anastasia Campbell

Anastasia joined GrahamThompson as a Pupil in September 2007, becoming an Associate a year later in September 2008. She made Partner in 2016. In January 2018 she took over the reins of GTCCS, a licensed financial services provider affiliate of GrahamThompson. She was first elected to WSG’s Board of Directors in 2020, in effect succeeding Managing Partner Judy Whitehead KC, who served on the Board from 2016 to 2020. Judy explained that when Annie began attending meetings in 2014, “she was quickly recognised as an emerging leader”. In 2018 GrahamThompson had the esteemed pleasure of hosting the WSG annual meeting in The Bahamas.

“We are delighted and so very proud of her – but not surprised”, Judy added. “Annie has very ably risen in GT from an associate attorney to head of GTC Corp and a partner in the Finance and Corporate Group. All while raising an energetic 8 year old son, studying for and achieving the Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) designation.

“She is known for her high-quality work and outstanding client care. We are delighted to support her as she chairs this global organisation.”

Recognised as a Leading Lawyer, by IFLR1000 – which specialises in ranking financial and corporate law firms and lawyers – and ranked by the agency in 2023 as a Notable Practitioner, Anastasia Campbell is a Partner in GrahamThompson’s Finance and Corporate Practice Group. Her practice focuses primarily in corporate and commercial transactions including mergers and acquisitions, asset finance, immigration, regulatory matters and inward investment Government projects across several sectors.
