Stanley Blackmon Receives Awards from LCLD and Alabama Law Alumni Society

Bradley is pleased to announce that Stanley E. Blackmon has been named among the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s (LCLD) inaugural 2023 Fellows Atlas Award winners. Additionally, he is a recipient of the 2024 Alabama Law Alumni Society’s Alabama Rising Young Attorney Award.
The Atlas Awards were established to recognize LCLD Fellows who showed the highest levels of engagement throughout their program, which is a year-long professional development series focused on leadership and relationship building aimed at connecting high-potential attorneys from distinguished organizations. The inaugural group of 62 honorees committed to 10 or more programming components ranging from in-person meetings to accountability partner activities to virtual sessions during their Fellowship. Mr. Blackmon successfully completed the LCLD Fellows program in 2023.
Established in 2020, the Alabama Rising Young Attorney Award recognizes a recent graduate who has shown significant leadership and purposeful service to the legal profession, their community and the University of Alabama School of Law. Mr. Blackmon, who is a 2015 graduate (magna cum laude) of the law school, will be honored at the annual Alabama Law Alumni Society Banquet on Mar. 1.
Mr. Blackmon is a partner in Bradley’s Birmingham office and concentrates his practice on high-stakes and appellate litigation throughout the federal and state court systems, focusing on legal strategy, motion practice and appeals. His practice spans from single-event cases to mass tort and multidistrict litigation and he has litigated cases across the substantive spectrum and has an active pro bono practice. An active member of the Birmingham Bar Association (BBA), Mr. Blackmon served as the 2023 president of the BBA’s Young Lawyers Section and was elected to the Place 2 seat on the BBA’s Executive Committee, which governs the 3,300 members in the Birmingham area. He was selected to the Alabama State Bar’s 2022 Leadership Forum.
The LCLD, founded in 2009, is an organization of more than 400 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who have pledged themselves to building a more equitable and diverse legal profession. The LCLD’s programs are designed to attract, inspire, and nurture talent, thereby helping a new and more diverse generation of attorneys ascend to positions of leadership.
