Hunton & Williams LLP announces the promotion of the following nine lawyers to partner. The firm proudly recognizes these talented individuals for their accomplishments and outstanding client service focus.

In addition, Andrea Bear Field has stepped down as managing partner of the firm’s Washington office in order to devote more time to her practice and other firm activities. She had held the position since 2000, and the firm is deeply grateful for her leadership. She is succeeded by partner David A. Higbee, vice chair of the firm’s competition team. Prior to joining the firm in 2005, Higbee worked in government service, including a role as Deputy Assistant Attorney General and Chief of Staff of the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice.

Syed S. Ahmad’s practice focuses on reinsurance and insurance coverage matters. He advises clients in all aspects of reinsurance disputes – counseling, arbitration, and litigation – and on issues related to general liability policies, professional liability and E&O coverage, first-party property policies, and bad faith claims. Ahmad, based in the firm’s McLean office, received both an undergraduate and law degree from George Mason University. He may be reached at [email protected].

J. C. Chenault, V’s practice focuses on commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, construction and real estate finance. J.C., based in the firm’s Richmond office, received an undergraduate degree from Dickinson College and a law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law. Andrew G. Geyer, based in the firm’s Richmond office, focuses on domestic and international technology-related and corporate transactions, including information technology outsourcing, business process outsourcing, procurement, licensing, and commercial contracting. An undergraduate of Siena College, Geyer received a law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law. He may be reached at [email protected].

Kerry E. Johnson concentrates securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance matters, particularly involving real estate investment trusts. Johnson, based out of the firm’s Raleigh office, received an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Christopher Mangin Jr., based in the firm’s Richmond office, focuses on federal income tax issues associated with real estate capital markets transactions and real estate companies. Uriel A. Mendieta focuses on general corporate representation, including mergers and acquisitions, structured finance, and national and international project finance. Mendieta, based in the firm’s Miami office, received undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Florida and law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. Djordje Petkoski, based in the firm’s Washington office, focuses his practice on antitrust litigation, internal investigations and complex litigation. He has extensive experience representing corporations and corporate executives in criminal cartel investigations and follow-on civil litigation. Brian J. Tanenbaum focuses on commercial real estate, finance and other business transactions for a variety of corporate, financial and local governmental entities.
