Minter Ellison Rudd Watts appoints new senior associate


Trans-Tasman law firm, Minter Ellison Rudd Watts, has further strengthened its corporate practice with the internal promotion of Emma Maconick to senior associate.

An experienced commercial and intellectual property lawyer, Emma Maconick, has been with Minter Ellison Rudd Watts since 2003. Prior to joining the firm, Emma worked as solicitor for Macfarlanes in London. She has a broad commercial, IP and IT practice which includes advising on transactions that vary from large cross-border deals for multi-national corporations to discrete commercial, IP and IT agreements for individual clients.

Emma’s areas of expertise include drafting and negotiating commercial, IP and IT contracts relating to the development, licensing and assignment of IP rights; software development, licensing and IT out-sourcing agreements and a wide variety of commercial agreements relating to franchising, distribution and agency, as well as research and development. Emma regularly advises clients on IP portfolio management and protection, brand management, advertising and sponsorship issues.

Emma also has experience in the establishment, acquisition and disposal of corporate structures relating to the commercialisation of intellectual property rights.
