Team of Experienced Neutrals Set to Lead Dinsmore’s New Dispute Resolution Entity

October, 2018 - United States of America

Dinsmore & Shohl LLP is pleased to announce the launch of its ADR Center, a full-service dispute resolution practice serving parties’ needs throughout the Midwest.

Led by a group of veteran attorneys and neutrals, the ADR Center offers conflict resolution solutions in matters pertaining to litigation, employment, intellectual property, torts, business and estate issues, among others, as well as ADR training and consultation. The neutrals have experience in all sectors and industries.

Thomas J. Bonasera has regularly overseen numerous arbitrations since the late 1970s. He has regularly served and continues to serve as the chair of three-judge panels and as a sole arbiter. He was a member of the NASD, Panel of Arbitrators, and continues to be a member of the AAA.

Michael W. Hawkins, a Harvard Law School-trained mediator, has mediated and arbitrated disputes since the 1990s. He has taught ADR courses at Xavier University and Northern Kentucky University, written extensively on the topic and provided external training on how to successfully mediate and negotiate disputes. He is a National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals mediator and arbitrator.

Patrick D. Lane is a former Dinsmore trial lawyer who spent more than a decade leading Procter & Gamble’s litigation group before returning to the firm in 2008 to focus on ADR. He is well-trained and highly experienced in all forms of ADR and specializes in intellectual property disputes.

Donna King Perry has served as a mediator in a variety of matters including employment, commercial and business disputes. She has also participated in mediation as counsel for litigants in more than 100 cases in both state and federal courts.

Thomas P. Whelley II is a Harvard Law School-trained mediator who also has more than three decades of complex litigation experience. He tailors his ADR approach to fit clients’ needs and help guide them to efficient, cost-effective resolutions.

“The ADR Center team is a world-class group of neutrals with vast experience in helping parties achieve desirable outcomes without advancing to the courtroom,” said George H. Vincent, Dinsmore Chairman and Managing Partner. “The Center will allow the dispute resolution services they’ve offered in their practices at Dinsmore to become even more accessible to those with disputes.”

“Our neutrals have decades of experience in mediation, arbitration and ADR training, but each also brings considerable knowledge gained through litigation,” said Michael W. Hawkins, arbitrator and mediator. “It’s this track record of success we feel make the ADR Center a compelling option for tackling a wide range of conflicts using mediation, arbitration, fact-finding, early neutral evaluations and settlement conferences. Our unique ADR Center facilities make the ADR process comfortable and effective for the parties.”
